James Street, Burleigh Heads: Boutiques, Coffee and a Beachside Morning

James Street is where a Burleigh beach morning can turn into coffee, boutique browsing and lunch without moving the car. Come for a few well-chosen stops rather than a shopping-centre-sized expedition: fashion, jewellery and café food are the focus of this compact town-centre outing.
KIVARI: a holiday wardrobe stop
KIVARI at 25 James Street is the stop for browsing the label’s dresses, denim and seasonal collections in person. The boutique’s curved finishes and natural furnishings give it a different feel from a department-store rail, and the brand offers complimentary styling appointments.
Its published hours are 9am–5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am–4pm Sunday. If your plan is a beach walk followed by shopping, those later Sunday hours are a useful reason to put coffee first. A styling appointment could be useful if you are looking for an outfit for a holiday dinner rather than just browsing.
Emte: compare labels, jewellery and accessories
Emte takes a multi-brand approach, with clothing labels including Faithfull The Label, Shona Joy and The Upside, alongside jewellery from By Charlotte and Kirstin Ash. It also has its own We Are Emte jewellery range. This is the more useful browse if you want to compare styles or choose an accessory rather than concentrate on one designer’s collection.
Treat the online range as a guide to the shop’s focus, not a guarantee that every size or product is on the shelf. If you are making the trip for a particular piece, ask the boutique to confirm it first.
Quest: coffee and something smaller than a full brunch
Quest Burleigh Café at 20 James Street serves artisan coffee, house-baked cakes, toasties, salads and breakfast snacks. That makes it a good pause between shops or a takeaway stop before returning to the foreshore.

A morning route that leaves time for the beach
Our suggested order is a beachfront walk first, coffee on James Street, then the boutiques once they open. You can keep this to a couple of hours or add lunch and make it a half-day. It works particularly well when not everyone in the group wants to shop: agree on a café meeting point and let the browsers take their time.
For a more active version, walk Burleigh Head National Park before shopping. Carry purchases afterwards, not around the headland. On the last Sunday of the month, the beachfront market adds another browsing stop farther along the foreshore.

Walk from central accommodation if that suits your plans. If driving, use marked pedestrian crossings between the town centre and beachfront and read the parking time limit before settling into a long lunch.
